Het Palais Brongniart, gebouwd in opdracht van Napoleon, dankt zijn naam aan de architect Alexandre Théodore Brongniart (1808-1825). Het werd ingehuldigd op 4 november 1826 en was bijna honderdvijftig jaar lang het hoofdkwartier van de Parijse beurs. De beurs werd jarenlang verlaten door effectenmakelaars en stopte haar activiteiten in 1987. Tegenwoordig is er een galerie gewijd aan de geschiedenis van de beurs. Het Palais, ontworpen door A. Brongniart, is helaas sinds 2008 niet meer toegankelijk voor het publiek.
