Les affleurements de quartzites de la commune de Sierck-les-Bains s'étalent sur 10 hectares dans le vallon du ruisseau de Montenach entre le moulin de Sulzen et la chapelle de Marienfloss. L'intérêt géologique des Quartzites du Taunus réside dans l'âge très ancien de cette formation géologique de roches éruptives datant du Dévonien (ère primaire). La présence d'une roche silicieuse en domaine calcaire autorise la floraison de plantes acidophiles rares. Un sentier de découverte sillonne le site. Quatre panneaux pédagogiques permettent de comprendre les milieux traversés.
