L’un des derniers témoignages de l’Art Roman dans le Chaunois se trouve à Pont-Saint-Mard, qui abrite l’une des plus belles églises de la région. Dédiée à Saint-Médard, sa construction remonte au XIIe siècle. Elle renferme une nef, un transept surmonté d’un clocher et un chœur. La nef est recouverte de charpente. Le sculpteur Georges Muguet a réalisé l’autel en 1959. Les vitraux de facture moderne sont réalisés en 1960 par Max Ingrand. Cette église dispose d’une curiosité en la présence d’étranges modillons sur son aile gauche.
