A Emberménil, sur un remarquable sentier de randonnée, découvrez le "bunker de commandement du prince héritier de Bavière" lors de la Première Guerre mondiale. D'une rare finition pour un ouvrage de guerre, il était réservé aux officiers supérieurs de l'Armée Allemande.
Le front, à partir de l'hiver 1914, est venu se fixer dans cette partie Est de la forêt de Parroy où sont encore visibles de nos jours, de nombreux aménagements réalisés par les deux belligérants.
