La première victoire de la France en août 1914 s'est déroulée sur les pentes de cette colline.
Aujourd'hui, au sommet de la Colline du Léomont, un monument rappelle les douloureux combats entre les soldats français et allemands. Une table d'orientation permet aux promeneurs de pouvoir contempler le panorama sur 360°.
Un chemin aménagé relie ce site à la Nécropole nationale de Frescati et à l'Espace Muséal Chaubet.
