Édifié en 1904 sur l’emplacement d’une maison des champs, ce castel, qui a appartenu entre autres au peintre Fleury Richard fut conçu par les architectes Vernon et Sainte-Marie-Perrin. C’est une construction massive avec arcades, tourelles, toits à forte pente. Elle contient une très belle salle de musique avec galerie et orgue.
Il s’agit là du dernier grand château édifié à Ecully de 1904 à 1910.
Pontourné laisse aussi place aux beaucerons, appelés aussi "Bergers de Beauce" car on peut y trouver un élevage de ces magnifiques chiens pour les amoureux des animaux.
