Description

Construite au 14ème siècle, elle fait partie du Grand Rempart de Verdun. En forme de fer à cheval, elle porte également le nom de Tour du Puty. Le nom de « Plaids » vient des audiences judiciaires qui s’y tenaient au Moyen-Âge.

> L’ancien rempart longeant le canal du Puty et la tour de l'Islot.
> le canal du Puty coule sous la Tour des Plaids. C’est un des nombreux canaux de la Meuse à Verdun. Ces canaux rappellent l'époque où les ateliers de tanneurs, travaillant pour l'armée, représentaient une part importante de l'activité industrielle de Verdun.
