Sur la Montagne de Wervicq, dans le parc du Château Dalle-Dumont, demeure un monument allemand érigé en 1915 sur lequel on peut voir une infirmière soigner un homme alité. Il rappelle que durant la Grande Guerre, les occupants avaient aménagé ici un cimetière attenant au « Lazarett » installé dans le château. Là étaient soignés les soldats blessés dans ce secteur proche d’Ypres. Déplacé dans les années 1920 un peu plus loin sur la « Montagne », le cimetière allemand abrite aujourd’hui les restes de 2 506 combattants dont 8 austro-hongrois.
