Le circuit de découverte des lavoirs de Saint-Georges-de-Rex est un voyage dans le temps rappelant ces lieux de convivialité où se rencontraient exclusivement les femmes du village pour rincer leur linge et bavarder.
Le lavoir de la Grande Fontaine, aménagé dans le village, dans la rue éponyme, est alimenté par une source avec fontaine à bras et implanté le long de la route. Son bassin à ciel ouvert est quadrangulaire et à un pan coupé pour s’adapter à la parcelle et à la route.
