En arrivant à Hettange-Grande, l’église Saint Etienne construite sur un rocher domine le village et vous invite à la découvrir. Bâtie sur les restes d'un château médiéval dont il ne reste qu'un puits et une tour, cette église ne manquera pas d’aiguiser votre curiosité avec son clocher qui ne suit pas l’orientation générale de l’église et lui donne donc un aspect étonnant. Elle renferme les vitraux de Jean Barillet réalisés dans un style figuratif mais stylisé. A ses pieds coule la Kissel, ruisseau qui serpente dans la ville.
