L’église romane de Pierrefiche est mentionnée dans les documents dès 1249. Le nom de Pierrefiche vient de la présence du Menhir planté non loin du village. En effet, il se trouve sur la route D60, reliant Pierrefiche au Cellier.
Au Moyen Âge, l’église Saint-Privat appartenait aux Hospitaliers de Saint Jean de Jérusalem, les Chevaliers de Malte. Des chapiteaux historiés et sculptés de figures et de motifs géométriques enrichissent le portail d’entrée à voussures en plein cintre. En 1890, l’église se dote du clocher carré en flèche.
