Ce musée a une histoire originale, un vrai conte de fées : c’est une annexe du musée historique de Mulhouse créée par un curé amoureux de son terroir et désireux de sauvegarder les témoins et les coutumes d’antan.
Il est installé dans une belle maison paysanne restaurée.
Les collections s’articulent autour de plusieurs thèmes : métiers, vie domestique, vie agricole, vie religieuse, et retracent la vie des paysans dans le Sundgau au 19e et au début du 20e s., monde qui semble bien lointain...
