Les recherches d'archives ne trouvent pas trace de sa date de construction. Néanmoins, les éléments architecturaux, notamment la façade nord-ouest, peuvent avancer l'hypothèse qu'il ai pu être érigé au cours du XVIe siècle.
Le manoir des Frères Tailleurs, dont le nom vient de la communauté de religieux, frères tailleurs, se distingue par une emprise au sol limitée et un développement important des élévations. Il est inscrit aux monuments historiques depuis 1976.
Ce château est l'un des trois châteaux situés au-dessus du village.
