Henri-Jules de Bourbon-Condé (1643-1709) exécute les dernières volontés de son père Louis II de Bourbon-Condé et débute la construction de la première église paroissiale de Chantilly en 1687 sur un plan de Jules Hardouin Mansart. Terminée en 1691, l’église est alors consacrée en mars 1692 sous le vocable de « Notre-Dame de l’Assomption ». Cette date marque l’acte fondateur officiel de la ville de Chantilly. À partir de cette date, les registres paroissiaux tenus par le curé, répertorient les baptêmes, mariages et sépultures.
