Henri-Jules de Bourbon-Condé (1643-1709) eseguì le ultime volontà del padre Luigi II di Borbone-Condé e iniziò la costruzione della prima chiesa parrocchiale di Chantilly nel 1687 su progetto di Jules Hardouin Mansart. Completata nel 1691, la chiesa fu consacrata nel marzo 1692 con il titolo di "Notre-Dame de l'Assomption". Questa data segna l'atto di fondazione ufficiale della città di Chantilly. A partire da questa data, i registri parrocchiali tenuti dal parroco registrano battesimi, matrimoni e sepolture.
