L'île Pewit est une petite île située dans la section nord-ouest du port de Portsmouth. Historiquement, elle semble avoir été reliée au continent par une chaussée en gravier artificielle, dont certaines parties existent encore. L'île a été colonisée par des chênes et des buissons de prunellier et abrite des espèces telles que la lavande de mer et les plantes de salicorne dorée. L'île est actuellement une réserve naturelle du Hampshire et de l'île de Wight Wildlife Trust.
