Nouvel Athos est une ville d'Abkhazie, république séparatiste de Géorgie, située au bord de la mer Noire, à 22 kilomètres au sud de Soukhoumi, la capitale abkhaze. Sa population était de 1 300 habitants au recensement de 2003 et de 1 518 habitants au recensement de 2011.
Elle fut connue autrefois sous les noms de Nikopole, Acheisos, Anacopia, Nicopie, Absara, Psychrotika ou Psyrta. Ses grottes et son monastère constituent des attractions touristiques majeures du lieu.
