La bataille de Salamine voit l'alliance des cités-États grecques, dirigée par Thémistocle, affronter l'Empire perse, mené par Xerxès Ier. Cette bataille navale se déroule en 480 av. J.-C. dans le détroit entre le continent et l'île de Salamine, située dans le golfe Saronique près d'Athènes. La victoire inespérée des Grecs, largement surpassés en nombre, est le point culminant de la seconde invasion perse.
