Clonfert est un petit village à l'est du comté de Galway, en Irlande, à mi-chemin entre Ballinasloe et Portumna. Le village donne son nom au diocèse de Clonfert. La cathédrale de Clonfert est l'une des huit églises cathédrales de l'Église d'Irlande, diocèse de Limerick et Killaloe. La cathédrale du diocèse catholique romain de Clonfert est située à Loughrea et abrite le sanctuaire de Notre-Dame de Clonfert. Trois églises se trouvent dans cette paroisse : St. Brendan's Eyrecourt, St. Francis Meelick et Clonfert. Son actuel prêtre paroissial est le père Declan McInerney et son évêque est Michael Duignan.
