Salmour olim Sarmatorio, est une commune italienne de la province de Coni dans la région Piémont en Italie.
En 901, l'empereur Ludovico III donna la localité de " Sarmatorium " à l'évêque d' Asti , avec la colline adjacente et 1070 iugeri de terrain : il s'agissait d'actifs fiscaux, en partie incultes - ils se trouvaient en fait près de della silva Bannale -, autrefois inclus dans le territoire du municipe d'Augusta Bagiennorum. Au début du Xe siècle, Sarmatorio apparaît, comme une colonie, bien distincte des villages voisins de Bene et de Lequio Tanaro.
