Colonna est une commune de la Métropole de Rome dans la région italienne du Latium, située à environ 20 kilomètres au sud-est de Rome, sur les collines albaines. Avec une population d'environ 4 300 habitants, c'est la plus petite des Castelli Romani.
On pense que le territoire de Colonna a inclus la communauté ancienne de Labici, située dans la zone de l'actuelle commune de Monte Compatri. Labici a été conquis en 418 av. J.-C. par les Romains sous le dictateur Quintus Servilius Priscus Structus Fidenas et rasé jusqu'au sol. Les Labicani ont ensuite fondé Labicum Quintanas près de la Tour de la Pasolina près de Colonna. L'endroit est connu sous le nom d'Ad Quintanas, une station sur la Via Labicana, entre Rome et Ad Bivium.
