Le ruisseau Talvera prend sa source à 2781 m d'altitude près du Passo di Pennes dans les Alpes Sarentines en Haut-Adige. Il traverse l'ensemble de la commune de Sarentino, constituant la frontière entre les communes de San Genesio Atesino et de Renon, avant d'entrer dans la commune de Bolzano où il se jette dans la rivière Isarco, qui est son deuxième plus grand affluent.
