Le château de Brandenburg, maintenant en ruines, est situé sur un promontoire rocheux à environ 70 mètres au-dessus du village de Brandenburg, au nord-est du Luxembourg. Il a une histoire qui remonte aux siècles IX et X lorsqu'un fort en bois a été construit sur le site. Au XIIIe siècle, il se composait de quatre étages, dont seulement trois subsistent. En 1668, les Français attaquèrent le château, et par la suite il est progressivement tombé de plus en plus en ruines. Il appartient maintenant à l'État luxembourgeois.
