Ruhnu est une île dans le golfe de Riga dans la mer Baltique. Elle appartient à l'Estonie et forme la commune de Ruhnu du comté de Saare. Avec 11,9 km² de superficie, l'île ne compte même pas 100 habitants, qui sont principalement des Estoniens ethniques qui l'habitent en permanence. Avant 1944, l'île avait été habitée pendant des siècles par des Suédois et les lois suédoises traditionnelles y étaient en vigueur.
