Le Windlust a été construit à l'origine en 1818 comme un moulin à terre et a été élevé en moulin à tourelle en 1886. Le moulin possède un ensemble complet de meules, mais les pierres de moulin ont été enlevées. Celles-ci se trouvent désormais au rez-de-chaussée. Le moulin a été restauré plusieurs fois et appartient maintenant à la municipalité de Het Hogeland. Le moulin est mis en service une fois par semaine sur une base volontaire.
