La tjasker est un type de moulin à vent de polder très simple. Il assurait autrefois des pieds secs, notamment dans la région tourbeuse de la tête d'Overijssel. C'est aussi le cas dans le village aquatique de Giethoorn. Une tjasker était utilisée pour le drainage des prairies et lors de grandes excavations de tourbe pour garder les trous libres d'eau souterraine. La différence de niveau est compensée à l'aide d'une soi-disant vis sans fin ouverte.
