Aalten ) est un village et la plus grande localité de la commune homonyme à l'est de la province néerlandaise de Gelderland. Au 1er janvier 2021, le village d'Aalten, qui se trouve près de la frontière allemande, comptait au total 17 430 habitants. Aalten est situé dans la partie orientale des Pays-Bas, dans la province de Gelderland, dans la région de l'Achterhoek, à peu près au centre de la ligne nord-sud Lichtenvoorde – Bocholt et au milieu de la ligne ouest-est Varsseveld – Winterswijk.
