Hazerswoude-Rijndijk est un village dans la commune d'Alphen aan den Rijn.
Les agriculteurs du village ont obtenu, en construisant des digues et en draguant, une matière première importante : la tourbe. Vers le 16e siècle, l'extraction de tourbe a provoqué l'encerclement du village par l'eau. Comme les terres agricoles avaient été transformées en tourbières, la plupart des gens sont partis vers des terres plus élevées le long des rives du Rhin.
