La forêt de Loohuis est une zone naturelle située à l'est du village d'Aalten, gérée par Natuurmonumenten. Elle se trouve dans la région de Achterhoek et fait partie du Paysage national de Winterswijk, une zone d'un total de près de 22 000 hectares. La forêt de Loohuis fait également partie du réseau Natura 2000. Il s'agit d'un réseau de zones naturelles protégées au sein du territoire de l'Union européenne. La forêt de Loohuis a le statut de « Site d'importance archéologique » sur la carte des Monuments archéologiques. En effet, il y aurait probablement un champ d'urnes sous le champ.
