Le Théâtre Posthuis est un théâtre situé à Heerenveen. Le théâtre ne propose pas seulement des spectacles sur scène, mais organise aussi de nombreux événements dans et autour de Heerenveen. De plus, le Posthuis est un lieu de mariage officiel au sein de la commune de Heerenveen. Le nom Posthuis est né du fait que le bâtiment fonctionnait autrefois comme auberge avec un lieu de repos pour les diligences. Il est possible que l'auberge "Het Posthuys" ait été construite lors de la création de Heerenveen en 1551. Dans une publication de 1754, une enchère de "3300 Guldens d'or et 15 stuivers" est faite pour "l'auberge het Posthuys". Depuis 1810, l'auberge est déjà connue sous le nom de "Vieux Posthuis".
