En 1882, la paroisse de Schijf se sépara de celle de Rucphen et Klein-Zundert. Tout comme l'église mère, cette paroisse était également dédiée à Saint Martin. La même année, une petite église fut achevée, conçue par P.J. Soffers. Grâce à un don, un petit clocher put également être construit, mais celui-ci s'effondra en 1914 lors d'une tempête. Il fut décidé de bâtir une nouvelle tour et d'agrandir l'église. En 1915, ce travail fut achevé et en 1922, une horloge de tour et une cloche furent ajoutées.
