Le terrier des cachés à Valthe, près du monument inauguré le 11 avril 1984, était l'un des deux refuges dans la forêt de Valther, entre Valthe et Emmen, qui a été creusé et occupé par un groupe de Juifs cachés pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Dans ces deux terriers, appelés "keet" par les cachés eux-mêmes, se trouvaient en composition variable au total seize Juifs. Les noms de ces seize Juifs sont : Louis Bachrach ; Ab van Dien ; Samuël From et Sara From-Kropveld et leurs enfants Adolf, Roza et Bernard ; Grietje de Jonge-Kropveld, Mozes Gudema et Dina Gudema-De Levie ; Maurits Jakobs et Rosa van Jakobs-Van Dam ; les frères Leo et Jacob Kropveld ; Sitta Meiboom-Speier et sa fille Bep Carla Meiboom.
