Steurgat est un hameau dans la commune d'Altena dans la province néerlandaise de Brabant-Septentrional. Il est situé sur la Nieuwe-Merwede, à l'ouest de Werkendam. À Steurgat se trouve le fort éponyme Fort Steurgat. Le hameau de Steurgat se situe dans la soi-disant Noordwaard de la Biesbosch brabançonne et doit son nom à la voie navigable Steurgat, qui part de la Nieuwe-Merwede à l'est du hameau. Dans le hameau se trouvent l'écluse de Biesbosch et le seul lien fixe de rive de la Noordwaard.
