Cette réserve naturelle passe d'une forêt de plateau à une forêt en pente qui se termine au ruisseau de la Geul. Derrière, il y a des prairies calcaires humides et partout, il y a quelque chose de spécial à découvrir. Dans la forêt de plateau se trouve la Meertensgroeve, une ancienne carrière de craie à ciel ouvert. Le cratère profond et abrité est maintenant un monument naturel protégé et un troupeau de chèvres y paît.
Dans la forêt en pente, des sangliers sauvages fouillent à la recherche de nourriture. Dans les prairies calcaires marécageuses, les espèces végétales et animales les plus rares ont la chance de survivre. Grâce à un magnifique pont en planches, en tant que visiteur, vous êtes au plus près d'un morceau de nature fragile.
