Quest'area naturale passa da una foresta di plateau a una foresta di pendio che termina presso il rio Geul. Il profondo cratere riparato è ora un monumento naturale protetto e vi pascola un gregge di capre.
Nella foresta di pendio si aggirano cinghiali in cerca di cibo. Nelle praterie calcaree umide, le specie di piante e animali più rare hanno la possibilità di sopravvivere.
Grazie a un meraviglioso ponte pedonale, i visitatori possono trovarsi a contatto con un pezzo di natura vulnerabile.
