Le pasteur Louis van Laer a célébré en 1946 son jubilé de prêtre en argent et a reçu en cadeau de ses paroissiens une statue du Sacré-Cœur. La statue en grès a été réalisée par Peter Roovers.
La statue représente une figure du Christ debout, vêtue d'un drapé. Il a les bras le long du corps et montre dans ses mains les stigmates. Sur sa poitrine, le Sacré-Cœur est visible. À ses pieds, on peut voir des têtes d'anges ou des pavés d'enfants.
