Sur la plage de Waal, on trouve régulièrement des restes de crabes chinois à poils et ceux qui ont de la chance croisent un crabe vivant ! Le crabe chinois à poils n'est pas une espèce indigène, mais a trouvé sa place aux Pays-Bas. Ils se dirigent vers la mer pendant la saison des amours et ensuite reviennent. Cela se fait par milliers en même temps. Cependant, nous n’en voyons rien, car ils marchent alors tous ensemble au fond de la rivière en direction de Hoek van Holland..
