Le Ouvrage à la Wetering Wallonne est une partie de la Nouvelle Ligne d'Eau Hollandaise et a été construit entre 1875 et 1878.
Le Ouvrage à la Wetering Wallonne se trouve sur l'île de Schalkwijk, à l'est de Tull et 't Waal, sur une partie plus élevée du paysage. En cas d'inondation, une étroite bande de terre serait à peine submergée entre le noyau du village de Schalkwijk et Tull et 't Waal. L'ennemi potentiel pourrait passer par cette éminence à travers la Nouvelle Ligne d'Eau Hollandaise.
