L'histoire de cette ferme remonte à 1452. La ferme actuelle, fermée, date du XVIIe siècle et comprend, en plus d'une maison d'habitation et d'une grange, une aile d'entrée avec un bâtiment de porte, où se trouve au-dessus de la porte un colombier. La commande de construction a été donnée par Herman van Hollogne.
Le Tonnedenhof, qui abrite aujourd'hui un centre équestre, englobe également un vaste domaine dans la vallée de la Roer sinueuse entre Roermond et Melick. Une partie est des prairies, une autre partie est une zone naturelle ouverte au public. Un sentier de randonnée a été aménagé ici. C'est une nature sauvage où se trouvent également des méandres coupés de la Roer.
