La Liendense Waard est une zone de développement naturel dans les terres inondables de la Meuse entre Batenburg et Niftrik. La zone a été développée par Rijkswaterstaat dans le cadre du projet Espace pour le Fleuve. Un ancien bras de la Meuse qui avait été bouché lors de la canalisation de la Meuse a été à nouveau déblayé et quelques nouveaux bassins ont été excavés. L'ensemble du terrain jusqu'à la digue sert désormais de zone de débordement.
