Le scientifique Elie van Rijckevorsel l'a construit à l'extérieur de 'Hoog Moersbergen' en 1904, sur le presque point culminant d'une vaste lande. En raison de son emplacement sur le stérile Utrechtse Heuvelrug, la maison de campagne, qui ressemble à un repaire de voleurs médiéval, a été surnommée Waai en Braai. Elle appartenait au petit château Moersbergen. En raison d'une disposition dans le testament du propriétaire/occupant, le manoir a été démoli en 1935. La végétation dense différente ('Monkey Grove') indique encore exactement où se trouvait la maison de campagne.
