Le bâtiment situé au 72-74, rue Burgemeester Elias à Amsterdam-Slotermeer est devenu un monument municipal en 2011.
En 1954, une nouvelle église Sainte-Catherine a été construite à cet emplacement, après que l'ancienne église a été démolie en 1939. L'église a été réalisée selon un projet des architectes Evers et Sarlemijn, qui ont pris en charge l'appel d'offres en juillet 1954. La construction devait commencer vers le 30 novembre et durer plus d'un an. L'église est une basilique à trois nefs sur un plan rectangulaire, construite sous l'influence de l'École de 's-Hertogenbosch. Le style est fortement influencé par l'architecture romaine et chrétienne primitive.
