Wat Phraya Tikaram est situé sur l'île de la ville dans la partie est d'Ayutthaya, dans le sous-district de Phai Ling. Le monastère se trouve sur la rive sud du Khlong Kramang. Le nom du canal change en Khlong Ban Bat alors qu'il continue à l'ouest de Wat Phraya Tikaram jusqu'à la confluence avec le Khlong Dusit et rejoint finalement la nouvelle rivière Pa Sak à côté de l'île de la ville. À l'est, à la jonction avec Khlong Hantra, coule le Khlong Khao Mao, un affluent de la rivière Pa Sak provenant de Tha Ruea.
Wat Thung Yi (abandonné) se trouve à l'ouest, tandis que Wat Krasang (temple actif) est à l'est.
Wat Phraya Tikaram est un monastère actif anciennement connu sous le nom de Wat Phra Yat, Wat Phop Yat. Le sanctuaire est indiqué sur une carte de 1916 CE comme Wat Phra Phop.
