Wat Phraya Tikaram se encuentra fuera de la isla de la ciudad en la parte oriental de Ayutthaya, en el subdistrito de Phai Ling. El monasterio está en la orilla sur de Khlong Kramang. El nombre del canal cambia a Khlong Ban Bat a medida que continúa hacia el oeste de Wat Phraya Tikaram hasta la confluencia con Khlong Dusit y finalmente se une al nuevo río Pa Sak al lado de la isla de la ciudad. Al este, en la intersección con Khlong Hantra, corre Khlong Khao Mao, un afluente del río Pa Sak que se origina en Tha Ruea.
Wat Thung Yi (inactivo) se encuentra en el oeste, mientras que Wat Krasang (templo activo) está en el este.
Wat Phraya Tikaram es un monasterio activo anteriormente conocido como Wat Phra Yat, Wat Phop Yat. El santuario aparece en un mapa de 1916 d.C. como Wat Phra Phop.
