L'étang de Walden est un étang profond de 31 m dont la superficie est de 24,7 hectares et le contour de 2,7 km , situé à Concord, dans le Massachusetts aux États-Unis. C'est un bon exemple de kettlehole : il a été formé par le retrait de glaciers il y a entre 10 000 et 12 000 ans environ.
Henry David Thoreau vécut sur les rivages de cet étang durant deux ans à partir de l'été 1845. Son expérience, rapportée dans son livre Walden ou la Vie dans les bois, a rendu l'endroit célèbre.
