Le Fort Rosalie, fondé par le négociant et négrier français Antoine Crozat est fortement lié à l'histoire des colons en Louisiane française.
Fort Rosalie a été le premier établissement de Blancs chez les Amérindiens Natchez et fut érigé par les Français en 1714. Au mois d'août 1716, une palissade fut érigée sur une hauteur surplombant le Mississippi sur le site qui est aujourd'hui la ville de Natchez.
