I mulini a vento e ad acqua fanno parte di un importante patrimonio nel Waasland.
C'è il mulino Scheldemolen a Doel, che può essere considerato uno dei mulini in pietra più antichi delle Fiandre. L'opera idraulica, il Getijdenmolen, risale al 16° secolo ed è l'unico mulino in Europa ancora in grado di macinare grano grazie all'uso delle maree del fiume Schelda. Inoltre, la ruota del mulino è la più grande ruota interna del Belgio.
