Wanzele è un comune nella provincia belga di Fiandra Orientale e una frazione del comune di Lede. Il villaggio si trova nella regione del Dender.
Fino al XIII secolo, Wanzele e Schellebelle appartenevano a un'unica signoria. Nel 1537 la signoria di Wanzele fu venduta dall'imperatore Carlo V a Adriaan Bette della casa Bette. Dal 1683 all'inizio del 1700 il potere su due terzi fu esercitato da un tale Teodoro van Roosendaal di Anversa, ma fino alla fine del XVIII secolo la famiglia Bette tornò ad essere proprietaria. Il 14 aprile 1759, l'altro terzo della signoria, insieme con la signoria libera di Ertbrugge, passò nelle mani di Jan Papejans di Morkhoven.
