Nel 1466 gli abitanti di Dinant furono gettati nel Mosa a coppie come misura punitiva da Carlo il Temerario, il duca di Borgogna. Questo accadde dopo che egli conquistò la città e voleva vendicarsi delle offese subite. Circa 800 cittadini furono legati a coppie e spinti nel Mosa.
Quando quelli, a valle vicino a Bouvignes, tentarono di risalire le sponde, gli abitanti di Bouvignes li spinsero di nuovo nel Mosa.
