Il Regione di Bruxelles-Capitale è, dal 1989, una delle tre regioni del Belgio ed è composta da 19 comuni, tra cui la città di Bruxelles, che è la capitale del Belgio. La Regione forma un'enclave in Fiandre che ha una superficie totale di 161 km² e conta 1.233.793 abitanti. L'intera area metropolitana di Bruxelles, inclusi i sobborghi al di fuori della regione stessa, conta circa 1,8 milioni di abitanti ed è quindi la più grande agglomerazione del paese. Sia la Comunità fiamminga che quella francese esercitano le loro competenze sul territorio della Regione di Bruxelles-Capitale.
